Matthew 18:21-22 says:
"21Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?"
22Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.' "
Yes, you should always forgive the people who do unkind things to you.
There are a lot of extenuating circumstances in a situation like adultery. Forgiving someone does not mean you should continue in the situation, or allow the offending party to continue in their behavior. Divorcing someone because they have committed adultery does not mean you haven't forgiven them. Please consult with a professional counselor or member of the clergy.
That is up to the person who has to make the decision. I personally could not because it would mean a total lack of trust for that person aand constantly worried that they was going to do it again, which in time wuill split you up anyway as you would just be suspicious all the time. If you are going to comit adultry then make sure you dont get caught!
it depends if it was more emotional because that is far worse than the actual physical aspects of the situation.
If there is repentance, there should be forgiveness. But, forgiveness doesn't mean there will not be consequences. I agree with BC, it is always best to get some sound counseling.
