Answer A Question
Does Infogirl understand the answers she's rating?
Answers
Infogirl,
Sorry to call ya out but there is no way to e-mail you directly... This advice may be good for anyone who doesn't fully understand how to use the advice/opinion button
Please understand that when you rate answers, that the opinion/advice button is in place if the persons response is their own opinion or advice.
If the answerer is offering facts, even if they appear to be the opinion of someone else, such as say, historians, fact keepers, organzations who run expensive statistical evaluations and present their findings, they are not meant to be choosen as opinion/advice just because the answer appears to be something that one could disagree..

Did you provide links ? A source to your information.. These help in rating your answers. I read a history answer before about Nazi treatment to diabled people, and without the links, - it can open argument to what is fact - I agree to your brief summary to the question asked but like in school, without a source to the information, your work is incomplete. Infogirl might have made her decision because of this.
Considering the simple fact that she has 10x your score and has thus been doing this for far FAR longer than you I would assume that she knows exactly what she is doing. Unless you are a regular user masquerading under a different name I'd suggest not asking such questions until you have a few more points under your belt.
Just a friendly suggestion :-)

Sunstreeks is entitled to his/her opinion. I think infogirl gets the concept. Often if the answer looks like an opinion or advice, that's how it is rated. Infogirl would have to answer for herself. Either way, I think you get the points.
Hey Sunstreeks, Yes, I do understand the answers I rate, but you can call me out anytime. I am very capable of mistakes. Everybody has their own way of rating, and if you are giving advice or your opinion, I rate it as such. Also, if a source is not given, I don't know that it isn't just advice, so will rate it accordingly. Check out how Oz or Jan answers sometime. They usually give the source of the answer.
If you just give a website for someone to find the answer, usually, I will rate it as not an answer or %50 because the question was not answered, though info was given where to find the answer.
Sometimes when a question is asked people give all kinds of info except what the person asked.
I will make mistakes, and you can dispute my ratings anytime, that is not a problem.
