Did anyone notice a purple sky, did the scientists really try to balance the sky elements and turn the sky purple?

A scientist did claim to have a 'cure' for our sky in the worse event that our blue sky and it's filters for the sun became weak and deteriorated. The cure involved pumping the layer of the sky with certain elements, which in effect would turn the sky purple... If you saw a purple sky, might have been the sun setting or something, or perhaps a scientist did go ahead with their sound plan and did fix the sky. It was not said that the sky would remain purple, only that the purple was the result of the 'medicine' where our planet could begin to heal properly.
In return we will have a fixed sky again, and a nice blue, like new.

I really doubt that, The sky changes colors all the time depending on where the sun is.
