I am also doing a report on thia subject. i have come to the conclusion that cell phones should not be allowed in schools because there is cheating involving cell phones, harrassment involving cell phones and they are a over all ditraction. i know you probly have read about all that information but if you are unshure if you are for or aginst then pick the won with more points to support it(for me that was aginst).
yes cell phones should be banned because i caused alot of distraction to studnet and if you ask any student from any class who is texing what grade they have and trust me 80% in my school are failing
cell phones should be allowed in school for incase of an emergency. If your parent gets hurt, or if you get kidnapped. But you should not make students feel bad by showing off your cellphones. It also is a distraction if you text while you are in class, but that is that students fault.
I think cell phones should be allowed in school. We all remember Columbine and how much of a help cell phones became. I do not think they should be on normal ring mode, but instead on silence. Schools can even set guidelines on cell phones such as only allowing them in backpacks during class time. Calls should only be allowed during lunchtimes or before or after school. Cell phones are essential for parents to be able to contact their children in case of emergencies. If the phone is in the backpack and a child is allowed to take it out during breaks they could see the message. This would also cut down on calls through the main office because parents could get messages to their children through the cell phone. Parents could help police as well by only allowing calls to and from home or in case of emergency situations. of course, they would have to explain the definition of an emergency situation.

having these forms of technogy is going to be a way of life, and many things we do will rely on them.
The question is should they but when will they be nesscery for all students to have one.
I have really mixed thoughts on this. Had no one had cell phones, Columbine would have been owrse than it was. But, the school would need to enforce when they can be out.
