Gun should have a regulation of the type that can be issued.
Certain guns are just too much power with no logical reason for a civilian to posess.
I understand to take all measure and precausions in your own safety, and having a handheld is fair enough. but for a person to have a personal rocket launcher as a registered weopon, it make you wonder who has the next big thing.
Before you know it, personal low yeilding nuclear weapons will be availble just for the purpose of protecting yourself against any possible threat.
The sawn off shot gun may be a step too far,
so is the avalibilty of weapons of mass destruction to any enemy.

criminals would still get them off the black market and then we regular citizens couldnt protect ourselves

No one apart from armed forces should be allowed guns, there is far to much gun crime. That should not be available for 'protection'. A shock gun maybe but nothing that fires any type of projectiles. Any one seen with a gun should be arrested and given at least 10 years in prison. That way we might stop killing each other on arguments about hedges
