You can do both, although both do require alot of time, if you enjoy writting you could create some stories in your spare time and try have them published.
Being a chef will take most of your time, but you could squeeze in the creative writing with the time you have when you would read a book or other pass time.
It would be ideal to have your creative writing full time, but you can still be one around the hours of a full time chef, since it may be convenient.

Thanks. This actually helped me a lot. Doing both actually never occurred to me.

Follow your passion. You need to love what you do to be happy. A chef can find employment more easily than a creative writer. If you become a chef you could write a "creative style" cookbook. Then you would have both your aspirations realized.
Ask yourself which can you actually do cook or write? What are your abilities? If you can do both equally well and enjoy them, you could always do both.
