Bats are basically the only mammal that can fly, although, but not official called flying, squirrels can glide great distances they are found in Asia, Africa and America. There are of gliding marsupials in Australia too. There are also a flying (gliding) Lemur in the Malay Archipelago. But bats are the only mammal that can really fly.

Mans attempt to fly has been seen in many ' Bird Rallies'. At times successful but only a distance of a few meters from a great hight. Man would imitate birds and build any type of wings to defy gravity. This is a yearly event at a show circus in Australia.
