Montly budgets for me are impossible! I need to have more discipline, patience, etc. But there are some easy ways to cut costs. One such way is to take your lunch to work as opposed to eating out every day. You can eat for three days bringing your lunch for the same amount as going out. Another hint is clipping coupons. Yes be that person holding up everyone in line-it is saving you money. Also, cut out trips to convenience stores. Those $1 cokes really add up in a month. That goes the same for starbucks coffee. Buy the 39 cent one at the local fast food joint or better yet wait for the free coffee at your office. Limit eating out to once a week especially if you have a large family or if you can avoid it all counts you will be surprised at the amount of money you save. Do away with sodas or expences that are really not needed. drink tea and/or water, it is much cheaper. These are only a few suggestions. I am no expert.

Make a rain stick. Rain sticks are an easy craft for any age. Just grab a paper towel roll or any other cardboard roll. Have the kids decorate, depending on their age. They can draw pictures of animals from the rainforest. They can stick stickers, etc. Turn up the radio and dance. You can do age specific music or if it?s a really tough day, put your music on and just dance with your kids. It helps you let out some steam and everyone gets exercise. Plus, they can use the rain stick you just made as an instrument. Rainy days are great days to spring clean. You?re stuck in the house all day anyway why not get those chores done. Get your whole family involved. Bake cookies or cake to surprise the man in your life when he comes home. The kids love helping cook and sneaking licks of raw cookie dough. You can also watercolor-it makes for a fun art project as well. Oh and if you just get sick of the house all together. Grab the umbrellas and rain slickers and go splash in some water.
