I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think that if you respond on something like a blackberry or an Ipod touch/Iphone that it says sent. If you send it on the actual myspace site though I think it says unread.

This is the right answer...when I use my phone on Myspace, sent messages say 'sent', but on my computer they are 'unread'. It doesn't matter if they log in or not...because some of the people I've sent messages to haven't logged in since before I messaged them and it says 'unread'.

it has something to do with the myspace profile 2.0 vs. the original... i think if u have 2.0 when u send it, it says unread, but if youre rockin the original myspace it just says sent...! :)

This is what I've been told: After you send a message, if the person you sent it to signs in or is signed in, it will say 'unread'. However, if they haven't signed in since you sent the message it will just say 'sent'.

I'm not sure about this. I sent someone a message a couple days ago, and when I read the status it says "sent." But the person I sent it to has signed on today.

im SURE it has to do with the blackberry/iphone answer. because i KNOW someone who has "sent" next to their message in my sent box, and they've logged in since. He didnt want to read my message, and he just deleted it. but it still says Sent on my side.
BUT, i didnt send that message through my iphone. i sent it on my computer. and it says Sent.
But other ones that ive sent from my computer, say Unread...?????
