Yes, you see it all the time though-out history. Knowledge is questioned and evidence is found to rewrite the books.
What you were teaching yesterday, does not apply in the world today. For example, the world is flat!
But now we agree on the world being round.
Suggesting that the Earth is round during that time will label you as 'crazy' and basically, dumb.

Many suggest that books we know today should be re-written, and not past on as facts to new generations. new book have been issued before in the past but not on the scale which is expected, new common knowledge is too obvious to be ignored.

- God and public schools never connected, but science might bridge that and bring forth conflict, and a transition seeing public schools teaching more about the facts of life simply because you should care about it, and that life is real.
