well yes, a layer or two of wood, 2 or 3 layers of 1/2 inch padding ( depending on how hard you wish for the ring to be ).
and the loose peices of ply wood to give it a bit more bounce and that crazy back stinging sound. optional to have a spring at the bottem of the ring to obsorb the crash and give you a little extra bounce :)
