Answer A Question

Could I cut off most of the vines on each plant because my watermelon plants each took an area of about 8' by '8, but only produced 2 or 3 melons per vine - such would allow me to plan more watermelons.?

Not only would you be able to plant more melons, the one melon each plant produced would be larger and of higher quality than if the plant were using its resources to produce many melons. be sure to leave enough leaves on the vine to help the plant gather enough energy from the sun to survive.
