Racoons hate noise/music. We placed several small transistor radios strategically around the place they pood (in our case it was on the roof, so at the bottom of the tree they used to climb up was one radio) and let them play all night. It may take 4-5 nights, but eventually they get the message and find a new place to poop.

Best thing to do is trap the animal and kill it or pay to have someone come in and trap it for you. Most states will not let you trap a animal and relocate it. I know it is ileagal in CA.
