Take care of the ends of your nails when you cut them, they can grow though your skin when they come back. Nails can curl in to your skin when they grow too long also, you would want to tailor cut them if you want to keep them cutting the nail that is pressing in to your skin. Best to cut your nails round like a rainbow - or - leave the side of your nail to grow like the letter 'n'. Now and then you can also cut the skin that can over grow around your toe, this skin looks transparant almost. Like bitting your finger nails, if you really bite in to them it only take 2 or so days to heal and look pretty again.
