Exercise can stop your periods if you have cut way back on your caloric intake and are working out heavily.

if you're dieting and you're missing your period or it's starting to get lighter. you need to eat more. missing your period is not healthy. if you work out a lot, you should eat a healthy amount of food. your body uses calories for energy and if you don't eat enough food, your body will go into starvation mode and you won't lose any weight. eat right. eat enough. don't overwork your body. slow weight loss is more effective anyway. remember that your period is your body's cleaning process. :)

I started exercising 10 days back. Its mostly one and a half hour session daily. yesterday i saw some blood drops and i thought i got my period... this was the time.. so I was anticipating it. BUT.. those were the only few drops.. after that i havent seen a single blood drop till today. Question: do you think exercise might have affected? Also, i got married last month.. but we took all precautionary measures to avoid pregnancy. Anyways.. if some one conceives.. is it normal to have some blood drops @ the time of periods. This was the second question.

I am so glad someone said this. I have done exactly what this comment said, excercise a lot and have cut back on caloric intake. I am very worried though that my period not occuring may stop me from having children in the future. I thought because i am 17 maybe thats why it's stopped, and not regular.

no it may just slow it down or make it not as bloddy like it usually is with some girls ... another thing is that stress can make you miss your period so watch out if you are stressing because you think that you are preganant cuz you havent gotten your period <3

Exercise does not stop your period. But it does make it shorter. At least for me anyways. When i ran cross country all my periods were short and light and now that cross country is over, they're much heavier and alot more uncomfortable. So exercise it does make it go away faster.
