When it come to chromosomes, I think it's like drinking wine. Too much will have you drunk and incapacitated. Just a little, will not have see you tipsy at all. But if it's just the right amount, then you can smile all night and not have a head ache in the morning. Down syndrome might just be as you suggest, better than having too much or just enough wine.
