I can't confirm this but I recall reading (BBC I think) that people in the UK are spending more time on the internet than they spend watching television. As the average person watches 4 hours of television a day in the UK.... the average for using the internet must be around 4 hours too.
Also I don't believe that there can be a true average as there is an age differential. The elderly don't really use the internet as much as young people do, so, an average for 14 - 25 year olds would be vastly higher than an average for 55 - 60 year olds.
As people get older, myself for example, and we have grown up with the internet the age differential will decrease. As I approach 40 years of age I use the internet for shopping, banking, paying bills, chatting, blogging, vlogging and much more including P2P stuff.
Personally, my work involves me using the internet as I work from home (lucky bugger me lol) so I spend about 12+ hours on the internet every single day.
The internet always has someone on it.
Amount of active users varies.
People use the internet during work.
Hours on the internet is increased
8 hours a day on adverage with home use I would say.
