Dr.Nick was not retarded,a little to available maybe,but you must understand,the medication written out by Nick any way,was for the whole group.They all had drug problems.Ricky was dealing,and taking about anything he could get.Joe was hooked on placidils(green jelly beans)Marty lacker was on several diffrent kinds of meds.jerry,al strada,etc.dick grob was probably the exception to this.my point is they all had a diffrent taste for diffrent things.that is why there was such an assortment of pills.the voice is the first thing that shows drug abuse.I think we can all assume Elvis voice was still very strong.but not as strong as the early 70's.but what one would concider normal ware and tare.for the number of concerts elvis did from 1969 through 1977,his voice was still putting it out.as he turned 40 his voice became more resinate,with deeper tones.I don't think Elvis was as zonked out on pills as a lot of people think.years of off and on upside down lifestyle,were begenning to take thier toll.but there is something strange about elvis.his supposed ability to gain and lose weight.if you look at the CBS special we all would agree elvis looks a wreck.but if you look at photos from the next concert 23 june 77,Elvis looks as if he has lost 100 pounds.same costume,he is just smaller.now i don't care who you are no body can lose that much weight in a day.the type of pills elvis took cause most people to lose weight.as many of you may no someone in your comunity who has a drug problem.if so if you knew them before thier problem they looked healthy,then drugs take over and before you no it they look like bone with skin pulled over it.Now naturaly,this is not true in all drug addiction cases.But is true in most abuse cases,with the type of drugs elvis was supposed to be taking,specialy in the amount that was stated,elvis would have shown weight lose.that is not what we see with elvis.look at photos of elvis prior to the june tour,he looks relatively normal.even the first part of june he looks like elvis.then the special,and he is a wreck.if anything something else was going on.depression over the book maybe.alot of people turn to food to feed depression.but i just don't see Drug abuse here.not denying addiction,i just don't see abuse.i try to help people with drug abuse problems.99% all look like they just need to lay down.maybe 1 % still look normal,and they are just starting out.havn't abused a long period of time.from what is reported Elvis was a long timer.and should have reflected some of this weight lose in his appearence.but from my experience he just dosen't look like an abuser.
