His first wife, Helen Palmer, passed away and he later married Audrey Stone.

At Oxford he met Helen Palmer Geisel; he married her (his first wife) in 1927
Helen Palmer Geisel committed suicide on October 23, 1967

Seuss married Audrey Stone Dimond on June 21, 1968. Seuss himself died, following several years of illness, in La Jolla, California on September 24, 1991

Theodor Seuss Geisel ( Dr. Seuss ) born on March 2, 1904. Springfield, Massachusetts
Henrietta Seuss and Theodor P. Geisel were his parants.

His father was a commander in charge of Queen Victoria Park at Niagara Falls, a huge park that included a zoo located three blocks from a library. His father owned the zoo.
Both Geisel's father and grandfather were also brewmasters in Niagara Falls.

Geisel's mother was born in Massachusetts, and it was her parents who were the immigrants from Germany.

Being an immigrant from Germany, the name "Seuss" would have been pronounced "zoice"
