Rascal Flatts is an American Country band composed of lead vocalist Gary LeVox (real name: Gary Wayne Vernon, Jr.) (born July 10, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio), bassist Jay DeMarcus (real name: Stanley Wayne DeMarcus) (born April 27, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio) and electric guitarist Joe Don Rooney (born September 13, 1975, in Baxter Springs, Kansas). Gary LeVox and Jay (Stanley) DeMarcus are second cousins.


Gary LeVox (born Gary Wayne Vernon , Jr. on July 10, 1970 in Columbus, Ohio) is the lead vocalist in the band Rascal Flatts. Rascal Flatts bandmate Jay DeMarcus is Gary's second cousin. Gary graduated from Olentangy High School in Lewis Center, Ohio in 1988.Gary graduated from College at Ohio St. University. Gary worked at the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and moved to Nashville in 1997 after many months of prodding and phone calls from cousin Jay. Gary enjoys playing acoustic guitar, although he doesn't do this in the band. His hobbies include hunting and fishing. His first musical performance was at the age of 9 in his church's play. Gary's first job was at a horse farm. His passion was obviously music. Gary has been married to his wife, Tara, since May 15th, 1999. They have two children.

I think I know why you thought the lead singer from Rascal Flats died............One day i was watching tv ( I think it was CMT) and I heard Rascal Flats singing the song "Its been such a long time" by the band Boston.......I thought the lead singer for Rascal Flats was at one time the lead singer from the band Boston that is how EXACT he sang that song............I JUST read on the internet while searching this that the lead singer from Boston died.........I hope this helped you.....
