Answer A Question
The first Mustang made is the 1964 1/2 coupe. It was unveiled in April of 1964. Ford sold over 20,000 Mustangs the first day it was released, and sold over one million in the first year.
The first Mustang was based on the Falcon. Ford offered the coupe and a convertible with a six cylinder or 8 cylinder engine. While originally named after a fighter plane, images of horses came to most people's minds, so Ford ran with that and history was made!
