If you are still in your early teens and have the opportunity, volunteer at a zoo or vet clinic. When you are of working age, get a job in a pet store, SPCA, or vet clinic. In college take many sciences. A good major would be psychology since they treat whales much as one treats a human child.
A good minor would be marine biology, zoology, or another animal related science.
You will need to be scuba certified and be able to freedive about 40 feet under the water. You must be able to explain things well, be social, for the animal's sake and the spectator's.
