i could, as religion and politics shouldn't be intertwined, so an atheist would probably be the best option

Of course, one of the scariest things I've ever read was the fact that Tony Blair admitted that he prayed to God for advice before he decided to go to war in Iraq. Politicians should base their decisions on evidence at hand, advice from people who know what is going on NOT some beard in the sky. I actually find the idea of an elected official promoting or advocating religion deeply offensive. I vote for people based on their ability to do the job not on their religious leanings.

Yes, if the person was a leader and made wise decisions, why not? Having a little guidance from above is a great thing, unless you blame your choices, both wise and unwise on it. I may have a harder time voting for someone who never admitted he/she didn't have all the answers.
